UT Arboretum Society - New Years Day Hike

The UT Arboretum Society will host a New Years Day morning hike at the UT Arboretum which will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the new auditorium where attendees will be greeted by fellow hikers and offered coffee, hot chocolate and snacks. Dr. Kevin Hoyt, Director, will be attendance to greet the guests and give an overview of the UT Forest Resources AgResearch and Education Center's programs, projects, and facilities.

At 10:00 a.m. the group will leave for several guided walks that will last about 45 minutes. The hikes will follow a several forested trails and will visit the Elmore Holly Collection, giving participants the opportunity to see the hollies still covered with berries.

This is an easy walk on the trails and is suitable for all ages. The UT Arboretum Society encourages everyone to come out to enjoy an outdoor respite before heading home in time to watch the Vols play Northwestern in the Outback Bowl at 12 noon on TV.
