Fire and Forest Management in Middle Tennessee Workshop

The Oak Woodlands & Forests Fire Consortium and the UT Forest Resources AgResearch and Education Center are pleased to announce that registration for an upcoming fire/forestry workshop and field tour in Middle Tennessee is now open. There is no registration fee for this event which will take place near Tullahoma, TN. Attendance is limited to the first 60 registrants. Registration deadline: September 1, 2017. Join us for presentations and discussions on regional fire history as recorded in tree-rings, woodland and savanna restoration on the Cumberland Plateau, fire effects on forest stand development, and oak management at Sewanee: University of the South.

The afternoon field tour will be held at the UT Forest Resources AgResearch and Education Center - Highland Rim Forest (HRF) and will include management discussions focused on the HRF annual burn plots, shortleaf pine management areas, long-term prescribed fire units, and hazardous reduction treatments.
