The UT FRREC and the UT Arboretum Society Presents American Chestnut Lecture January 23 “Restoration of the American Chestnut: A Marriage of Breeding and Biotechnology” is the title of the UT Arboretum Society’s program on January 23rd 7:00 p.m. at Roane State Community College, City Room.

Ben Jarrett, Southeast Regional Science Coordinator of the American Chestnut Foundation (TACF) will present this free lecture. He will be discussing the progress in restoring the mighty giant of the forest, the American Chestnut. Jarrett rejoined TACF in his current position after working as project manager in Madison, Wisconsin for two years. He oversees chapters in Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama and Georgia.
