UT Arboretum Nature Book Trail Grand Opening

The University of Tennessee Arboretum, along with the University of Tennessee Arboretum Society, would like to invite you to the grand opening of our new Nature Book Trail on Saturday, September 21st, from 9:00 11:00 a.m. The event will be held rain or shine at the UT Arboretum Visitors Center, 901 S. Illinois Avenue, Oak Ridge, TN 37830.

Our new Nature Book Trail will consist of 14 large signs that will are copies of display the pages of Butterflies-Exploring the Life Cycle, a book by Oak Ridge author and educator, Dr. Shirley Raines, and University of Memphis nature photographer, Curt Hart. The easy-to-walk trail will begin by the parking lot at the Visitors Center and end at a gravel road near the Marsh Road trail that comes back to the starting point. In all, the distance is about .5 mile, and the easy trail is suitable for adults and children who can walk. The trail is neither handicap wheelchair accessible nor suitable for strollers.
