2 pm - 6 pm

On Thursday, Dec. 6, more than 50 interested persons turned out for an open house hosted by the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture to share information on its intention to issue an RFP (request for proposals) to secure an industry partner for a research project to determine the environmental impact of the drilling process for oil and natural gas on the Cumberland Forest unit of the UT Forest Resources AgResearch and Education Center. The open house was held at the Wartburg Civic Center, in Wartburg, Tenn., from 26 p.m., and the public was invited to visit directly with UT experts in geology, water quality, forestry and terrestrial ecosystems and discuss the proposed research project and present their questions and concerns.

Unless otherwise noted, all events are open to the public.
